Family Fun in the Fort!

After a long week of rain, snow, hail and more snow, we finally woke up Sunday morning to a beautiful day of SUNSHINE! We decided not to let the day pass us by without taking advantage of it so we began to brain-storm of things we could do outside. We both wanted to go somewhere where we could walk and take the stroller. Phil wanted to make sure he got some ice-cream during the day and my only request was a Starbucks coffee at some point! Phil came up with the idea of Fort Langley, and it turns out so did the rest of the Fraser Valley!! It was packed! We strolled up and down the streets going into the cute little shops. Every store we went into was just hopping with people. It ended up being quite complicated just to get a scoop of ice-cream! After getting Phil his favorite, mint-choclate chip, we went looking in the candy store, and of course my favorite little hat shop! I ended up finding a hat that I just had to buy! (I am SO not a hat person so I rarely find hats that I feel look good on me.) After walking around for a while we decided to find somewhere to get a bite to eat. We found a cute little bistro with a patio in the sunshine and put our name in for a table. We were told that it would only be about a 15 minute wait so we walked up and down the street one more time. When we arrived back at the restaurant a couple at a table near the front called us over and said "We see that you are waiting for a table, but did they tell you that the kitchen is now closed?" I went to double check with the waitress and sure enough their kitchen was closed. She said that she could put our order in quickly if we wanted, but there wasn't a table for us yet so it wasn't gonna work! So much for the cute bistro lunch! We ended up heading back down the street to a little deli where we grabbed a quick sandwich and vitamin water. After lunch we were both pretty tired so we decided to head back home. Since I still hadn't gotten my wish for the day; my Starbucks coffee, we stopped to grab one on the way home. At Starbucks I was informed that today was the absolute last day that my favorite latte, the pumpkin spice, would be available (until next winter) so I HAD to have one of those. It was delicious and the perfect way to end a great day of family fun in the Fort!
